Multiple Impaired Driving Arrests in Lane County Over the Past Week

Lane County, Oregon – Sheriff’s deputies have made several arrests related to impaired driving in the past week, with some incidents involving crashes and combative individuals. The Lane County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) reported a series of incidents spanning from February 5 to February 9, highlighting the ongoing concern over impaired driving in the area.

On February 5, at approximately 2 p.m., a deputy observed a vehicle driving erratically and initiated a traffic stop. The driver, 41-year-old Danielle Davis of Utah, was found to be impaired. During the arrest, Davis became combative, requiring assistance from additional deputies to subdue and handcuff her. She was subsequently transported to the Lane County Jail, facing charges of driving under the influence (DUI) and resisting arrest.

The following day, February 6, deputies responded to a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Bob Straub Parkway and Daisy Street in Springfield around 5:30 p.m. After investigating the scene, deputies determined that one of the drivers, 45-year-old Jordan Wade Carper of Fall Creek, was impaired at the time of the crash. Carper was arrested and taken to the Lane County Jail on DUI charges.

On the early morning of February 8, deputies responded to a convenience store located on Franklin Boulevard at around 12:30 a.m., where a man, later identified as 22-year-old Preston Marcus Nibblett of Pleasant Hill, attempted to purchase alcohol while allegedly intoxicated. Nibblett was arrested for DUI after a short investigation and was cited in lieu of custody. Just over an hour later, deputies responded to a single-vehicle crash on London Road near Cottage Grove. The crash, which involved a vehicle that struck a tree, left both the driver and a passenger, both juveniles, with significant injuries. Despite their injuries, the juveniles were reportedly uncooperative with deputies and emergency personnel before being transported to a local hospital. The driver was arrested for DUI and cited in lieu of custody at the hospital.

The final arrest in the report occurred at 1 a.m. on February 9, when deputies responded to a dispute in the 3100 block of Pheasant Boulevard in Springfield. Upon arrival, they encountered 51-year-old Dani Sydney Lann of Eugene, who was found to be impaired. Lann was arrested and cited for DUI.

In light of these recent incidents, the Lane County Sheriff’s Office is reminding the public to take extra precautions, especially as the holiday season continues. Deputies encourage everyone to plan ahead for a safe ride home, designate a sober driver, and avoid driving under the influence at all costs. Additionally, motorists are urged to always wear their seat belts to ensure their safety on the roads.

The Lane County Sheriff’s Department remains committed to keeping the roads safe and addressing impaired driving through continued enforcement and public awareness efforts.
