Astoria, OR – The Astoria Fire Department thanked local businesses, partner agencies and community members who helped make its annual open house a success over the weekend.
The event brought together residents and representatives from several public safety and emergency service organizations, giving community members an opportunity to learn more about the agencies and view their vehicles and equipment.
Van Dusen donated soda for the event, while Home Depot provided fire extinguishers and smoke alarms. Miss Columbia-Pacific Teen also participated in the open house by announcing the winners of the department’s raffle.
Representatives from the Astoria Police Department, Medix, the Oregon Department of Forestry and Columbia Memorial Hospital were also on hand to operate booths, display vehicles and provide educational information to the public.
The fire department expressed its appreciation to everyone who contributed to the event, including the organizations that sent representatives and the businesses that provided donations.
Officials also thanked the community members who attended and spent the day with firefighters and other local emergency service personnel.
