Astoria, OR- The Astoria Police Department in Oregon responded to a report of an unresponsive man early in the morning near Astor Street and 7th Street.
According to officials, Astoria Dispatch received a call at approximately 6:01 a.m. reporting a male slumped over in a chair. Police and fire personnel arrived at 6:08 a.m. and located a 63-year-old man who was deceased at the scene.
Authorities said the man was known to be experiencing homelessness and typically stayed in local shelters.
The Clatsop County Medical Examiner’s Office responded and determined that the death appeared to be from natural causes. Officials said there is no indication that the death was related to exposure, trauma, or any suspicious circumstances.
Police also addressed community rumors, stating that available evidence and witness information do not suggest anything suspicious.
