LEBANON, Ore. – A Lebanon man is facing several serious charges following an early morning police chase on Wednesday, April 23. The pursuit, which began around 2:39 a.m., ended with the suspect fleeing on foot before being apprehended by a K-9 unit.

According to the Lebanon Police Department, officers attempted to pull over a vehicle on Main Street after noticing it was driving without headlights. The driver, later identified as 32-year-old Jacob Salvador, reportedly sped off and began driving against oncoming traffic. The officers initiated a pursuit, which continued outside of Lebanon to the intersection of Spicer Drive and Highway 20. At that point, Salvador reportedly turned the vehicle around and headed back toward the city.

The chase came to an end when Salvador and his passenger, 33-year-old Chavana Bowser, abandoned the vehicle near the City Center Motel and attempted to flee on foot. While Bowser managed to escape, police quickly located Salvador in a nearby parking lot. A K-9 unit was used to apprehend him.

Authorities reported that Salvador had ingested fentanyl during the pursuit, prompting officers to administer Narcan, an opioid overdose reversal drug. Salvador was then transported to a nearby hospital for further medical treatment before being booked into custody.

Salvador now faces a range of charges, including attempting to elude police, reckless driving, reckless endangerment, hit-and-run property damage, and resisting arrest. Additionally, he had an outstanding warrant for providing false information to police during a previous encounter.

Bowser, who also has several warrants for her arrest, remains at large. The Lebanon Police Department is continuing to search for her.

The incident serves as a reminder of the risks associated with high-speed pursuits and the dangers of fentanyl, which has been a growing concern for law enforcement in the region.
