EUGENE, Ore. – A large-scale law enforcement operation unfolded early Wednesday morning as officials from multiple agencies served search warrants in Eugene, Troutdale, and a warehouse in west Eugene as part of an investigation into an illegal marijuana grow operation.

According to the Lane County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO), the raids took place around 8 a.m. on March 26 at multiple locations, including homes on Musket and Taney Streets in Eugene, a residence in Troutdale, and a warehouse located near West 11th Avenue and Arrowsmith Street. The operation followed a months-long investigation into a suspected unlicensed marijuana manufacturing business.

Sheriff’s deputies reported discovering a significant illegal operation at the warehouse, which was found to contain large amounts of THC extract, psilocybin, and other controlled substances. Officials seized 2,725 pounds of THC extract, half a pound of amphetamines, 50 pounds of psilocybin, and 10 pounds of vacuum-sealed marijuana. Additionally, investigators found large containers of hazardous chemicals, including flammable and acidic substances, some of which had been spilled. The chemicals and lab equipment were rendered inoperable during the investigation.

The sheriff’s office noted that several code violations were identified at the property, prompting a referral to the City of Eugene’s code compliance division for further action.

Authorities arrested 45-year-old Vu Hong Nguyen of Troutdale and 64-year-old Arthur Scott Ingersoll of Eugene. Both men were criminally cited in lieu of custody for charges of unlawful manufacture of a marijuana item and criminal conspiracy. As the investigation continues, additional charges may be filed.

The operation, which involved the collaboration of the Douglas Interagency Narcotics Team, Oregon State Police, Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Oregon Liquor and Cannabis Commission (OLCC), and Eugene Springfield Fire, is part of ongoing efforts to curb illegal marijuana production and distribution.

LCSO officials are continuing to investigate the case, and anyone with additional information is encouraged to contact the Lane County Sheriff’s Office at 541-682-4141, referencing case number 25-0708.

The case highlights the persistent issue of unregulated marijuana operations in Oregon, where illegal grows continue to pose challenges to both law enforcement and the public. As authorities continue to crack down on these operations, further arrests and enforcement actions may follow.
