EUGENE, Ore. – A Eugene man was arrested early Tuesday morning following a violent confrontation at a residence on Bailey Hill Road. The altercation, which began with an assault involving a pool cue, escalated into a chaotic struggle involving a knife and a pellet gun.

At approximately 7 a.m. on March 18, deputies with the Lane County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of an assault at a home in Eugene. Upon arrival, officers detained two men and initiated an investigation into the incident.

Authorities identified the suspect as 64-year-old Kerry Marnell Carsh. According to the Lane County Sheriff’s Office, Carsh allegedly struck the other man with a pool cue and attempted to restrain him by tying him up with wire. However, the victim managed to break free, retrieve a knife, and attempt to defend himself.

The altercation took a violent turn when Carsh allegedly shot the victim several times with a pellet gun, injuring him. In response, the victim cut Carsh multiple times with the knife before wrestling the pellet gun away from him.

Both men sustained injuries during the confrontation. Carsh was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment before being released the following day. After being cleared by medical staff, he was arrested and transported to the Lane County Jail.

Carsh now faces multiple charges, including two counts of second-degree assault, menacing, coercion, unlawful use of a weapon, and felony possession of methamphetamine. The identity and condition of the victim have not been disclosed. The Lane County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the incident.
