EUGENE, Ore. – Three individuals were arrested and one was cited Tuesday morning after a dispute in the Barger Drive area led to reports of gunshots fired, according to the Eugene Police Department (EPD).
At approximately 12:25 a.m. on March 25, EPD officers responded to a call about a disturbance at a residence on Amirante Street. Several callers reported hearing gunshots in the area, and witnesses described four males leaving the scene in a white sedan. Upon arriving at the location, officers found spent ammunition casings nearby.
During a welfare check at the residence, officers learned that the homeowners had been confronted by individuals outside, one of whom is suspected of firing a gun into the air. Fortunately, there were no signs that the shots had caused any damage to the home or vehicles parked outside.
A suspect vehicle matching the description was located in a parking lot near Empire Park and Barger Drive. The vehicle contained four male teens, aged between 16 and 18. After receiving consent from the occupants, officers searched the vehicle but did not recover any firearms.
Three of the individuals, 18-year-olds Anders Miley Disla and Nicholas D. Thompson, along with a 17-year-old male, were arrested and taken to the Lane County Jail on charges of disorderly conduct. A fourth individual, a 16-year-old male, was cited and released to a parent at the scene.
The investigation into the source of the gunshots is ongoing, and authorities have not ruled out the possibility of further charges.
