COTTAGE GROVE, Ore. — A 45-year-old Springfield man was arrested late Friday night following an alleged altercation that escalated to threats with a firearm at a Cottage Grove residence.
According to the Cottage Grove Police Department (CGPD), officers responded to a reported fight in progress at a home on Cottage Heights Loop just before 9:30 p.m. on March 28. Upon arrival, authorities determined that one of the individuals involved, identified as Scott A. Johnson, had reportedly attacked another man and threatened him with a pistol during the confrontation.
The investigation revealed that Johnson, who was arrested near the scene, faced multiple charges including second-degree assault, menacing, unlawful use of a firearm, and felon in possession of a firearm. Jail records confirm that Johnson was booked into the Lane County Jail, where he remains in custody as of March 31.
