COOS BAY, Ore. — A suspect wanted in connection to a robbery in Eugene was apprehended in Coos Bay on the evening of March 6, 2025, following a coordinated law enforcement operation.

At approximately 9:45 p.m., Eugene Police Department (EPD) officers responded to a robbery at Richard’s Deli, located at 3666 W. 11th Avenue. The suspect, described as a male, had reportedly robbed the deli at gunpoint before fleeing the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash.

EPD Property Crimes Unit detectives quickly identified the suspect as 61-year-old Andre Kevin Outland of Coos Bay. After gathering sufficient evidence, detectives applied for a search warrant, which was granted by a judge. The investigation then extended beyond Eugene as authorities located a vehicle linked to Outland in Coos Bay.

The Coos Bay Police Department, along with neighboring agencies, assisted EPD in the operation. Coos County Metro SWAT officers attempted to stop the vehicle associated with Outland, but the suspect failed to yield, leading to a pursuit. The chase ended shortly after, with Outland being arrested without further incident.

Following the arrest, the Metro SWAT team secured the residence linked to Outland, allowing EPD detectives to execute the search warrant. Authorities recovered numerous items of evidence from the residence, believed to be connected to the deli robbery.

Outland was lodged at the Coos County Jail on multiple charges, including Robbery in the First Degree, Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Use of a Weapon, and Menacing.

Authorities credited the successful operation to the combined efforts of local law enforcement agencies across the Oregon coast.
