Astoria, OR — Oregon State Police are investigating an officer-involved shooting that occurred on Monday morning at Collier State Park in Klamath County.
At approximately 9:45 a.m. on December 23, deputies from the Klamath County Sheriff’s Office responded to a critical incident that led to the shooting. During the event, a 35-year-old man was struck by gunfire and critically injured. He was immediately transported to a nearby hospital, where he is currently receiving medical care.
Fortunately, no deputies were injured during the incident. The circumstances leading up to the shooting have not been disclosed as authorities continue their investigation.
Oregon State Police are handling the investigation, which is standard procedure for all officer-involved shootings in the state. More details are expected to be released as the investigation progresses.
