EUGENE, Ore. – An arrest has been made in connection to a deadly shooting that took place earlier this year in Eugene. On April 16, the Eugene Police Department’s Violent Crimes Unit announced the apprehension of 18-year-old Levi Rosenthal Eva.
Eva was arrested after investigators reportedly linked him to the March 3 incident near East 23rd Avenue and Willamette Street. During the shooting, 24-year-old Bryon Jivan Fitzgerald was wounded and transported to a nearby hospital. Despite efforts to save him, Fitzgerald succumbed to his injuries shortly thereafter.
Following a thorough investigation, authorities confirmed that Eva was connected to the fatal shooting and arrested him on charges of first-degree and second-degree murder, first-degree assault, first-degree robbery, and unlawful use of a weapon.
