ASTORIA, Ore. — Astoria Fire Department is recognizing two service milestones within its ranks, honoring both a new volunteer firefighter and a long-serving deputy chief.
Officials announced that Firefighter Neil Christensen has completed his first year as a volunteer with the department. Christensen previously served for an extended period with Knappa Fire and brings significant firefighting and EMS experience to Astoria Fire. Department officials described him as a strong asset to both the agency and the community.

In his current role, Corbit oversees training and operations for the department, contributing his extensive experience in firefighting and emergency response. Officials said his knowledge and leadership have been a key resource for the department throughout his career.
