EUGENE, Ore. – A person was hospitalized Tuesday afternoon after a two-vehicle crash left one occupant trapped inside their car, prompting a dramatic rescue by emergency responders.
At approximately 2:30 p.m. on March 25, Eugene Springfield Fire (ESF) crews were dispatched to the intersection of Park Avenue and Northwest Expressway following reports of a serious collision. According to ESF officials, several bystanders, including one from a neighboring fire agency, immediately called 911 after witnessing the crash.
Upon arrival, emergency responders discovered that the crash involved two vehicles, with one person trapped inside a car. ESF crews quickly stabilized the vehicle and began providing medical care to the occupant. A truck company then arrived on the scene and worked to remove the driver’s side door to extricate the trapped individual.
The rescued occupant was swiftly transported to a nearby hospital for further evaluation. While the extent of their injuries remains unclear, emergency personnel took all necessary precautions to ensure their safe removal from the wreckage.
