PORTLAND, Ore. — A Portland man has been ordered to remain behind bars following a court appearance on Monday after he was accused of taking photos of a woman while she changed in a Clackamas County dressing room.

Jordan Harris, 41, turned himself in to police on Friday after a month-long investigation. He faces charges of invasion of privacy and second-degree invasion of personal privacy following the incident that occurred in late January at the Clackamas Town Center mall.

According to the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office, the victim, a woman who was shopping at the mall, noticed a suspicious bag in the next dressing room. The woman later confronted Harris and took photos and video of him as he left the store, the sheriff’s office said.

Harris reportedly acknowledged that he was the man in the images that had been shared publicly by deputies. In his statement to investigators, Harris admitted to using a nearby dressing room at the Forever 21 store, where the alleged incident took place. He also confirmed placing a bag on the floor during his visit.

The victim told authorities that she had observed a hole in the bag through which Harris appeared to be photographing her. Deputies say that the bag was likely used to conceal the camera lens.

Harris has been charged with felony invasion of personal privacy and misdemeanor second-degree invasion of personal privacy. The court, taking into account the seriousness of the accusations, has ordered Harris to remain in custody until his next court appearance, scheduled for April 2.

The case has drawn attention to issues surrounding privacy rights in public spaces and the use of hidden cameras for unlawful purposes. Authorities are continuing to investigate, and they are encouraging anyone with additional information to come forward.

Harris is expected to face further questioning in the coming weeks, with the legal proceedings set to continue in April.
