Lakeview, Ore. – Oregon State Police (OSP) are investigating the death of a 17-year-old found in a home on South G Street in Lakeview on February 18. Authorities were initially called to the residence to assist the Department of Human Services Child Welfare in serving a court-ordered protection order for the juvenile.

At approximately 3:44 p.m. that afternoon, law enforcement entered the home and conducted a search, during which they discovered the teenager deceased on the property. In connection with the incident, the juvenile’s mother, Amanda Edwards, 38, and her boyfriend, Nathaniel Cullins, 31, were arrested.

Edwards was charged with criminally negligent homicide, first-degree criminal mistreatment, second-degree abuse of a corpse, and tampering with physical evidence. Cullins faces the same charges, in addition to an extra charge of unlawful use of a weapon.

The Lake County Major Crime Team, which includes the Lake County Sheriff’s Office, OSP, and the Lake County District Attorney’s Office, has been activated to investigate the circumstances surrounding the juvenile’s death.

According to OSP, there is no ongoing threat to the public at this time.

Authorities are asking anyone with additional information related to the case to contact the OSP Southern Command Center at 541-883-5711 and reference case number SP25-054507.
