Astoria, OR – According to the state officials, the Commission will reportedly convene a special virtual meeting in late January to finalize the recruitment plan, the desired attributes of the next director and other information.

Under the plan, recruiters from the State of Oregon and Motus Recruiting in Tigard will conduct the search. A panel of two Commissioners and a liaison from the Governor’s office will help screen candidates.

The executive recruiters will consult stakeholders to learn what they feel is important for a new director.

Final candidates are expected to be presented to the public in a public forum as early as mid-March.

The candidates will introduce themselves and answer selected questions from the public. Final candidates will also meet with the Governor or her designee.

After the public forum, the Commission will interview candidates in Executive Session. They will then reconvene the public meeting to vote on a new director.
