SWEET HOME, Ore. – April 18, 2025 – A 39-year-old woman was arrested Friday afternoon in connection to a hit-and-run crash that left a motorcyclist with serious injuries, according to the Sweet Home Police Department (SHPD).

The incident occurred just before 2:30 p.m. at the intersection of Highway 20 and 1st Avenue, when a dark-colored SUV struck a male motorcyclist and fled the scene. Responding officers, alongside the Sweet Home Fire and Ambulance District, quickly arrived to find the motorcyclist suffering from potentially serious injuries. The victim was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital in Corvallis for treatment.

Authorities later learned that a dark-colored SUV had been seen speeding through the nearby Strawberry Loop neighborhood. A local resident, aware of the earlier crash, spotted the vehicle and contacted the driver, later identified as Kristina Boswell. Boswell remained at the scene and cooperated with police when they arrived to interview her.

Boswell was subsequently arrested and transported to the Linn County Jail. She now faces several charges, including felony failure to perform duties of a driver and reckless driving. The Sweet Home Police Department also indicated that additional traffic violations related to the incident would be referred to the Linn County District Attorney’s Office.

The police department is continuing its investigation and encourages anyone with additional information to come forward. Tips can be submitted to Officer Gerkman at 541-367-5181 or via email.

Authorities have not yet released further details about the motorcyclist’s condition or the specific circumstances surrounding the crash. The investigation remains ongoing as law enforcement works to gather all relevant information.
