EUGENE, Ore. – Lane County Sheriff’s deputies are seeking assistance from the public in identifying two motorcyclists who were allegedly seen riding recklessly in a neighborhood near River Road last week. The incident, which involved dangerous driving and an attempted traffic stop, has raised safety concerns among residents in the area.

On the morning of March 7, 2025, the Lane County Sheriff’s Office received a complaint at approximately 10:40 a.m. regarding two individuals riding dirt bikes recklessly near Cindy Street and Ferndale Avenue. According to authorities, the motorcyclists were reportedly riding on sidewalks, performing wheelies, and engaging in other unsafe behavior, creating a significant hazard for residents and pedestrians.

A sheriff’s deputy patrolling the area was able to spot the riders performing wheelies on River Road. The deputy attempted to conduct a traffic stop; however, the two motorcyclists accelerated and fled the scene, eluding the officer.

In an effort to identify the individuals responsible, Lane County sheriff’s officials are asking for the public’s help. Anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has video footage of the riders is encouraged to contact the Lane County Sheriff’s Office at 541-682-4141, referencing case number 25-1137.

Authorities are urging residents to come forward with any information that could assist in the investigation, as the reckless riding poses a serious safety risk to the community.
