EUGENE, Ore. — A 57-year-old Eugene man was arrested on multiple charges following a three-vehicle crash on Coburg Road on Wednesday afternoon, the Eugene Police Department reported.

At approximately 4:18 p.m. on January 22, officers responded to a collision involving three vehicles on northbound Coburg Road near Rustic Place. According to authorities, a Honda Odyssey, driven by a 68-year-old woman, was stopped in traffic behind a Nissan Rogue when it was rear-ended by an Oldsmobile Bravada. The Bravada was driven by Patrick Frederick McColligan, a 57-year-old Eugene man.

As a result of the impact, the Honda Odyssey was pushed into the Nissan Rogue. Both the driver of the Nissan and McColligan’s passenger, a 52-year-old woman, were transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Further investigation revealed that McColligan was operating the vehicle without a valid driver’s license. Authorities also discovered that he had been cited earlier in January for driving while suspended and had an active warrant out of Florence for the same offense.

McColligan was arrested at the scene and subsequently transported to the Lane County Jail. He now faces several charges, including misdemeanor driving while suspended, third-degree assault, and fourth-degree assault. As of January 23, McColligan remains in custody.

The incident highlights the risks associated with individuals continuing to drive despite having suspended licenses, and it raises concerns about road safety in the Eugene area.
