Astoria, OR – An Astoria man, Brice C. Litton, was sentenced on Wednesday to more than 10 years in prison and three years of probation for a series of sexual abuse offenses spanning from 2016 to 2022.
Litton, 29, appeared in Clatsop County Circuit Court, where he entered an Alford plea, acknowledging that the prosecution had enough evidence to convict him, though he did not admit to committing the crimes. He was convicted on charges of first-degree sexual abuse, second-degree unlawful sexual penetration, and second-degree online sexual corruption of a child.
The case involved several incidents that took place over a six-year period. The sentencing brings closure to a lengthy investigation into Litton’s actions, which caused significant harm to the victims involved.
Under the terms of his sentence, Litton will serve a substantial prison term before being placed on probation, with strict conditions imposed. The court’s decision highlights the seriousness with which the community and the justice system view sexual abuse cases, particularly those involving minors.
The sentencing marks an important moment for law enforcement in Astoria, with the police department and prosecutors working together to ensure justice for the victims. The case serves as a reminder of the ongoing efforts to protect children from exploitation and abuse.
