BOZEMAN, Mont. – Bozeman Deaconess Hospital employees recently began receiving COVID-19 vaccinations just as area leaders anticipate a holiday surge. Taylor Rose, director of Clinical Services & Operations Bozeman Health Big Sky Medical Center said holiday staffing looks good, the medical center is not currently at capacity and preparations have been made. At a recent Big Sky Relief meeting, Big Sky Fire Chief Greg Megaard volunteered the fire department, if needed, to administer the vaccines once they become available to the greater public.
Until then, the unprecedented collaboration between area organizations that offers free COVID testing for Big Sky residents continues. Big Sky Resort Area District Executive Director Daniel Bierschwale is featured in a video that shows the steps for testing. During the Dec. 15 meeting he noted that around 600 tests have been completed, and three positive cases found. There are some businesses currently having outbreaks and masks will remain crucial even after the vaccine is widely available, he said.
