Oregon Begins Issuing Tax Refunds: Direct Deposit Filers to See Money Soon
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Astoria, OR – The Oregon Department of Revenue has started issuing state tax refunds, sending out the first batch to around 400,000 taxpayers. For those who opted for direct deposit, the money could land in their accounts as soon as this week.

Typically, the state holds refunds for a two-week period to prevent fraud. However, with this period now concluded, most tax filers can expect their refunds within two weeks of filing.

While the majority of returns will be processed quickly, some may require additional review. These returns could take up to 20 weeks to be fully processed.

Taxpayers who filed early or chose direct deposit will likely see their refunds first, while others may experience a longer wait if their returns are flagged for further examination. The Oregon Department of Revenue has advised filers to monitor their accounts for updates and check the status of their refunds online.
