EUGENE, Ore. – A 61-year-old Coos Bay man has been arrested in connection with a robbery at a west Eugene deli, which took place on the evening of March 6, 2025. Andre Kevin Outland, the suspect in the case, was apprehended after a brief pursuit in Coos Bay following an investigation by Eugene police.

According to the Eugene Police Department (EPD), officers were dispatched to Richard’s Deli, located at the corner of West 11th Avenue and Bailey Hill Road, at approximately 9:45 p.m. on Thursday, March 6. The suspect, later identified as Outland, allegedly entered the deli, brandished a firearm, and demanded cash from the employees before fleeing the scene with the stolen money.

EPD’s Property Crimes Unit launched an investigation and quickly identified Outland as a suspect. Detectives secured a search warrant for his Coos Bay residence and coordinated their efforts with local law enforcement agencies in the area. During the investigation, authorities located a vehicle associated with Outland in Coos Bay.

When Coos County SWAT personnel attempted to stop the vehicle, Outland allegedly refused to pull over, leading officers on a brief pursuit. The chase ended when Outland was stopped and arrested by authorities. A subsequent search of his home resulted in the recovery of numerous items linking him to the robbery in Eugene.

Outland was transported to the Lane County Jail and faces multiple charges, including first-degree robbery, felon in possession of a firearm, unlawful use of a weapon, and menacing. As of March 11, 2025, Outland remains in custody.

The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are working to gather further evidence related to the robbery.
