EUGENE, Ore. — A 20-year-old Eugene man was arrested last week as part of an ongoing investigation into child exploitation, led by the Lane County Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force. Andrew John Hruby was taken into custody after detectives served a search warrant at a residence south of Eugene, where they uncovered evidence related to the possession of child pornography.

Hruby has been charged with ten counts of Encouraging Child Sex Abuse in the 1st Degree. According to the Lane County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO), the charges stem from the possession of explicit material, not its production. The investigation revealed no indication of local victims involved in the case at this time.

In a statement, the LCSO emphasized that the arrest was part of a broader, ongoing effort by local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies to combat child exploitation and protect vulnerable individuals. “This investigation is ongoing, and we are committed to continuing our efforts to prevent child exploitation in our communities,” the Sheriff’s Office stated.

The investigation received support from several agencies, including the FBI, Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), the Springfield Police Department, Oregon State Police, and the Oregon Department of Justice. These agencies continue to collaborate in the investigation, underscoring the coordinated response to child exploitation at multiple levels of law enforcement.

Hruby has been lodged at the Lane County Jail and is awaiting further legal proceedings. As the investigation develops, authorities have urged anyone with relevant information to come forward.
