Astoria, OR – Authorities are investigating a suspected murder-suicide after two individuals were found dead at the Bayshore Apartments in Astoria on Wednesday morning. Police responded to the scene after receiving a call from a maintenance worker who discovered the victims unresponsive and bleeding inside one of the apartment units.

At approximately 9:57 a.m., the maintenance employee called Astoria Dispatch to report the grim discovery in the 1400 block of W. Marine Drive. The worker described finding a man and a woman lying on the floor, both with apparent gunshot wounds. Officers from the Astoria Police Department, along with Oregon State Police, arrived at the scene just minutes later, at 10:04 a.m., and confirmed the victims had already succumbed to their injuries.

Despite attempts to provide first aid, both the man and the woman were pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities have not yet released the identities of the victims or provided further details about the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Investigators are treating the case as a murder-suicide, but are continuing to gather evidence and interview potential witnesses. The Astoria Police Department has not disclosed any information about the possible motive or how the incident unfolded.

The tragic event has left the local community shaken, with many residents expressing shock and sadness. Authorities are asking anyone with information to come forward to assist in the ongoing investigation.

This marks the latest in a series of violent incidents in the region, raising concerns about public safety in the area. Authorities are expected to release more details as the investigation progresses.
