Astoria, OR – The Astoria Police Department announced that Dispatcher Edrey Sedano has successfully completed the Basic Telecommunications Academy through the Oregon Department of Public Safety Standards and Training.
Officials said the three-week academy provides essential training for emergency dispatchers, preparing them to serve as the first point of contact during emergencies while meeting state certification requirements.
The program also includes a minimum of 16 weeks of on-the-job training in a dispatch center under the supervision of a certified trainer.
Department leaders said Sedano demonstrated dedication and professionalism throughout the training process and noted that his role is critical to supporting public safety operations.
