Springfield, Ore. – Kevin Glen Whiting, a 59-year-old man from Springfield, has been charged with two counts of aggravated first-degree theft, according to Lane County Circuit Court records. Whiting, who is currently serving a 90-month prison sentence for a series of identity theft and computer crime convictions, is facing additional allegations involving thefts that took place between May and November 2023, and again from June to August 2023.
Court filings show that the victims in these new cases include a Lane County couple and Cedars Group, a business based in Bakersfield, California, which operates fast-food restaurants in the area. Both parties reportedly lost more than $10,000 as a result of Whiting’s alleged actions.
Whiting was previously convicted in 2010 for similar crimes, further illustrating a troubling pattern of fraudulent behavior. In his most recent conviction, he was sentenced for multiple charges, including a dozen counts of identity theft. Despite his ongoing sentence, these new charges highlight the ongoing nature of his alleged criminal activities.
Authorities are continuing to investigate the matter, and Whiting’s upcoming trial could shed further light on the full extent of his alleged crimes.
