Oregonians Face Approaching Tax Deadline as Filing Rush Begins
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Astoria, OR – With the deadline for filing taxes fast approaching, Oregonians have just two weeks left to submit their state and federal returns. The final day to file is April 15th, and while many have already taken care of their tax obligations, a significant number of residents are still preparing to meet the deadline.

According to the Oregon Department of Revenue, nearly 1.2 million taxpayers in the state have already filed, leaving more than a million returns yet to be submitted. The department is bracing for a surge of filings in the final days leading up to the cutoff, urging individuals to submit their returns as early as possible to avoid the rush.

So far this tax season, the department has issued more than 850,000 refunds to Oregon residents. For those expecting a refund, filing early could result in a faster return, providing much-needed relief in the form of a timely refund.

State officials emphasize that waiting until the last minute to file can lead to unnecessary stress, with the potential for delays in processing and refunds. As the deadline looms, taxpayers are advised to double-check their paperwork and ensure all forms are accurately filled out to avoid delays.

For those who have not yet filed, the clock is ticking. As the April 15th deadline draws nearer, the Oregon Department of Revenue continues to encourage residents to file as soon as possible to help avoid the anticipated filing rush.

With only two weeks left, Oregonians are urged to take action now to meet the deadline and fulfill their tax responsibilities before time runs out.
