EUGENE, Ore. – A 55-year-old Eugene man is behind bars after being arrested in connection with a string of burglaries that targeted local businesses and food carts over a period of several months, the Eugene Police Department announced.
The investigation began in September 2024, when the property crimes unit launched a probe into a series of break-ins at various businesses and food carts across Eugene. At the time of his arrest, Janczyk was wanted on warrants for second-degree theft and a parole violation. He was also facing charges related to domestic abuse, including menacing and fourth-degree assault.
Following his arrest, Janczyk was charged with nine counts of second-degree burglary, nine counts of second-degree criminal mischief, and one count each of first-degree criminal mischief, second-degree criminal trespass, and second-degree attempted burglary.
The investigation continues, and authorities are urging anyone with additional information about the crimes to come forward. Janczyk remains in custody as he faces multiple criminal charges, including serious felony offenses.
