Astoria, OR – The City of Astoria Public Works Operations announced that waterline maintenance will take place at the intersection of 16th Street and Jerome Avenue on Tuesday, July 15, 2025.

To facilitate access to waterline valves, southbound traffic on 16th Street will be detoured west at Irving Avenue to 14th Street between 10:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m., or until the work is completed. Northbound traffic on 16th Street will remain unaffected.

Motorists and travelers in the area are advised to exercise caution, obey all traffic control devices, and be mindful of workers and equipment near the roadway.

The city noted that the schedule may change in the event of inclement weather, equipment failure, or other unforeseen circumstances.

Officials thanked the public for their patience and cooperation during the maintenance work aimed at improving the city’s water infrastructure.
