EUGENE, Ore. – A man was taken into custody Tuesday following an armed robbery at the Market of Choice on Delta Oaks Drive, prompting a swift response from Eugene Police and temporary alerts at nearby schools.
According to officials, the incident occurred in the afternoon when the suspect reportedly entered the grocery store armed and stole merchandise. After the robbery, the man fled on foot toward a nearby apartment complex.
Police officers responded quickly and began searching the area. A man matching the suspect’s description was located near the 2300 block of Cal Young Road. Authorities confirmed the suspect was taken into custody without incident.
During the search, local schools in the area were placed on alert as a precaution. School officials later received confirmation that the suspect had been apprehended and that there was no ongoing threat to student safety.
