North Carolina Man Arrested in Oregon for Alleged Stalking, Threatening Ex-Boyfriend and Roommate

EUGENE, Ore. – A 32-year-old man from North Carolina has been arrested after allegedly stalking his ex-boyfriend across the country and making violent threats against him, his roommate, and himself. The arrest was made following a series of disturbing incidents that led authorities to intervene.

Regis McDonald, who is from North Carolina, was arrested by Lane County deputies on March 20, 2025, in Klamath Falls. McDonald is facing multiple charges, including stalking, telephonic harassment, third-degree theft, and second-degree criminal trespass. The charges stem from a case initially reported to the Eugene Police Department in March 2025.

Court documents reveal that McDonald began his harassment campaign by sending alarming text messages to the victims, including graphic images of a gun. The messages were reportedly sent out of the blue, sparking concern for the safety of the victims. The situation took a darker turn when McDonald allegedly traveled to Eugene, Oregon, where the victims reside.

Upon arriving in Eugene, McDonald is accused of attempting to force his way into the victims’ home by trying to open a locked front door. When he was unable to gain access, he reportedly vandalized the property by ripping off a security camera before fleeing the scene. During this period, court documents state McDonald sent over 60 text messages, continuing his pattern of harassment.

The investigation into the case led to McDonald’s arrest in Klamath Falls, where he was taken into custody without incident. Authorities also found that McDonald was in possession of a “ghost gun,” a firearm that lacks a serial number, during his arrest. The presence of the untraceable weapon has raised concerns about the potential danger McDonald posed to the victims and others.

McDonald’s actions have left the victims fearing for their lives, and the case highlights the growing issue of stalking and harassment across state lines. The Lane County District Attorney’s Office has filed charges, and McDonald will face legal consequences for his alleged actions.

As of now, McDonald remains in custody, with his bail set at a significant amount. His legal proceedings are ongoing as authorities continue to investigate the full extent of the alleged crimes.

This case serves as a reminder of the dangerous effects of online harassment and the importance of taking swift action to protect victims.
