GLENWOOD, Ore. — A mobile home fire broke out Friday afternoon at the Ponderosa Mobile Home Park on Franklin Boulevard, but thanks to a swift response by Eugene Springfield Fire officials, the blaze was contained quickly, preventing further damage and injuries.
Firefighters were dispatched around 5 p.m. on May 23 after reports of the mobile home engulfed in flames. Despite simultaneous calls for a brush fire west of Eugene and a medical emergency in the Thurston area, responders arrived within six minutes of the initial report.
Upon arrival, crews found a single mobile home unit fully involved in the fire. Through rapid and coordinated efforts, the fire was contained to its point of origin, and crews successfully prevented it from spreading to adjacent homes.
No injuries were reported in the incident, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation, according to Eugene Springfield Fire officials.
