How to Send Letters To Santa Locally & Get a Reply
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

BOZEMAN, Mont. – Writing letters to Santa is a long-time tradition and this year Santa Claus is writing letters back! When letters are dropped off at any local Dino Drop-In location Santa is guaranteed to respond.

Writing a Letter To Santa? Here’s What you Need to Do:

  • Drop the letter at Dino Drop-In in Bozeman, Belgrade, or Livingston. (1928 N 22nd Ave #2 in Bozeman, at 203 W. Madison in Belgrade, and at 206 S. 11th in Livingston.)
  • Make sure there is a clear return address.
  • Don’t worry about postage. Dino Drop-In is an official partner of the North Pole for 2020 so no postage is necessary.
  • Drop off the letter before December 17th so Santa can respond.
  • Slip the letters into special Santa mailboxes located inside Dino Drop-In’s front doors for convenient and contactless delivery.

If you’re not familiar, Dino Drop-In is a flexible childcare center aimed to offer a safe and fun learning environment for kids. As on official partner of the North Pole the Founder of Dino Drop-In and Explore Montessori and Academy, Jessica Dehn, stated

The holidays are paramount for creating emotional memories in children, and we are excited to deliver a positive and joyful experience to them, especially this year. 2020 has been a year full of challenge and change for many families, and our hope is that we can deliver some normalcy and excitement to the holiday season, and provide something fun for children to look forward to.

I always looked forward to getting mail when I was a kid, heck even to this day I enjoy getting mail – as long as it’s not a bill. Just imagine how much joy a child will experience when they receive a personalized letter from Santa addressed to them!

The Best Holiday TV Specials of All Time, Ranked

10. Nestor, The Long-Eared Christmas Donkey (1977)

There’s a reason you most likely haven’t heard of or seen Nestor, The Long-Eared Christmas Donkey. It doesn’t have quite the same ring as Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, does it? This forgotten holiday special, based on the song of the same name, follows a donkey named Nestor with extra long ears that all his peers make fun of. But it’s those same ears that prove to be useful when Mary and Joseph need a donkey to carry them to Bethlehem in a sandstorm. This is basically the story of Rudolph, but much darker and during the Roman Empire. It lacks the warm, fuzzy cheer of the Rankin/Bass specials before it, but that donkey is ridiculously cute

Rankin/Bass

9. Jack Frost (1979)

Rankin/Bass’ Jack Frost doesn’t get nearly as much love as the other holiday specials, most likely because it doesn’t scream Christmas. If anything, it’s just as much about Groundhog Day than it is about Christmastime — it’s narrated by a groundhog named Pardon-Me-Pete. The story itself is very Hans Christian Anderson-esque (re: depressing). Jack Frost, a winter sprite, falls in love with the mortal Elisa after saving her from danger. To win her love, he must become human. But he can only stay human if he accomplishes a series of arbitrary tasks before time runs out. He defeats the evil Kraus and completes his mission, but guess what? Elisa has already fallen in love with her knight in golden armor. All that work for nothing! At least with Jack Frost returning to his sprite state, Pardon-Me-Pete can get an extra six weeks of winter to squeeze in an extra nap.

8. The Little Drummer Boy (1968)

The Little Drummer Boy, like several other Rankin/Bass productions, is based on a song. This movie fleshes out the story of that boy, portraying him as a misanthropic orphan named Aaron, who only enjoys playing his drum for his animal friends. After a series of mishaps, he finds himself with his injured lamb Baba in Bethlehem. There, he plays drums for the newborn Jesus in exchange for the healing of Baba, since he has “no gift to bring.” This special is quite dour in tone, and the animation is rudimentary. Considering its inclusion of mature subjects like kidnapping and murder, it’s also not a great fit for kids. But its powerful ending helps make up for it.

7. Frosty The Snowman (1969)

Frosty The Snowman is sweet, jolly fare for the whole family. Kids flock to the amiable title character, adorable button nose and all. Adults find him bumbling, hapless and sort of annoying. Frosty is a very simple, whimsical story about a group of kids who find a magic top hat that allows their snowman to become sentient. As the temperature gets warmer, a young girl named Karen pledges to get Frosty to the North Pole. Frosty definitely doesn’t carry the same sentimental weight as other Rankin/Bass holiday specials. There’s no real lesson at play here, except that snow melts, and fast. Still, the crisp animation and folksy charm still has the ability to warm hearts of families everywhere.

6. Mickey’s Christmas Carol (1983)

Disney put its hat in the ring of holiday specials with this 1983 featurette. Mickey’s Christmas Carol was the first original Mickey Mouse theatrical cartoon produced in over 30 years. While it was originally created to be shown alongside Disney reissues in theaters, it made its way to NBC just a year later. In this gentle retelling of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol, Scrooge McDuck takes on the role of Ebeneezer Scrooge. Mickey Mouse is Bob Cratchit, and Goofy is Jacob Marley’s ghost. Just like The Muppet Christmas Carol that would come a few years after, Mickey’s Christmas Carol puts a fun spin on a holiday classic by incorporating characters you already know and love. It’s a pretty faithful, middle-of-the-road adaptation, but the extra dash of Disney magic makes it a Christmas Carol worth watching.
