Construction Underway on New $6.7 Million Fire Station in Pleasant Hill

PLEASANT HILL, Ore. – Construction has officially begun on a state-of-the-art $6.7 million fire station in Pleasant Hill, marking a significant milestone following the merger of the Goshen and Pleasant Hill fire departments.

On February 27, the Board of Directors for Pleasant Hill Goshen Fire and Rescue issued a notice to proceed with the construction of the new fire station, which will serve as a central hub for emergency response operations in the region. The new facility is expected to enhance the department’s capabilities, with upgraded living quarters for firefighters and EMTs, which will help ensure they are better prepared for emergencies.

In addition to improved accommodations for first responders, the new fire station will feature the installation of a 50,000-gallon water tank and pump. This system will supply a hydrant directly in front of the station, providing much-needed support while relieving pressure on the surrounding community’s existing water infrastructure.

The project, which is set to be completed by the end of 2025, follows the merger of the Goshen Rural Fire Protection District and the Pleasant Hill Rural Fire Protection District, which voters approved in 2024. The formation of Pleasant Hill Goshen Fire and Rescue, a combined fire and rescue service, is expected to provide a more unified and efficient emergency response service for both communities.

The department has promised to provide ongoing updates as construction progresses, with local residents eagerly awaiting the completion of the new facility.

Once finished, the new fire station will represent a major upgrade to the area’s emergency services, bolstering both response times and overall fire protection. The $6.7 million investment reflects the growing need for modern, reliable infrastructure in local public safety efforts.
