POWERS, Ore. – A 41-year-old transient man was arrested last Wednesday for allegedly threatening a couple outside their home in Powers, according to the Coos County Sheriff’s Office.
The incident occurred around 9 a.m. on February 12, when a woman walking her dog was approached by the suspect, identified as Cameron Nightingale. Deputies said Nightingale directed aggressive gestures and made threatening comments toward the woman.
The situation escalated when the woman’s partner came outside to confront Nightingale. According to authorities, Nightingale then threw a knife onto the ground in a menacing manner. Deputies were able to confirm the couple’s account after reviewing security footage from the scene.
Nightingale was subsequently arrested and taken to the Coos County Jail, where he faces two counts of menacing and two counts of unlawful use of a weapon. As of February 17, jail records show Nightingale remains in custody.
The Coos County Sheriff’s Office has not disclosed further details about the suspect’s background or his motives in the incident.
