Astoria, OR – According to the police officials, deputy Chief Halverson had been working on the plan for over a month, and night shift officers spent significant time earlier in the week posting No Parking signs.
On the day of the event, all officers, except those on the night shift, along with four dispatchers, worked to ensure the event ran smoothly and safely.
The department extended its thanks to Public Works and the Astoria Fire Department for their invaluable assistance.
The new Kona E-bikes proved crucial for navigating downtown and will now be used for patrolling the Riverwalk and nearby neighborhoods.
Officers encouraged residents to engage with them about the bikes or any other concerns when they were out on patrol.
